Brian Trisler
Welcome
I am a professional IT Business Intelligence consultant and Implementation/Integration Engineer who specializes in designing and delivering timely, cost effective solutions which provide high value and meet business needs.
My career in IT began in 2007 and transitioned from software development into a role as a Business Intelligence consultant in early 2011. During my career, I have held several positions including Software Tester, Java/J2EE Developer, Project Manager, Business Intelligence Consultant, ETL Developer, Integration Engineer, and Implementation Engineer to name a few. I am very happy with my current position and although, I am not actively seeking other employment opportunities I am always open to new opportunities and contacts. I have finally achieved my long time goal of living in beautiful Austin, Texas, and currently have no interests or plans to leave. The experiences I have gained throughout my career are many and diverse, but I pride myself in my ability to succeed in a team environment, to adapt to new challenges, and to exceed expectations. In addition, I look forward to continuing to utilize my programming aptitudes, while also furthering my knowledge through experience, education, and certifications in these and other software development disciplines. I am currently studying to acquire my RHCSA (Red Hat Certified System Administrator) Certification.
Currently, I am working as an Implementation and Integration Engineer for Adometry Inc., a cross-channel advertising attribution and analytics company located in Austin, TX. As an Implementation Engineer I specialize in Linux as well as the collection and integration of huge data sets, across multiple channels, into a cohesive data warehouse for attribution and reporting. I am responsible for all aspects of the data process from initial client setup, account creation, ftp account creation, data acquisition, development/testing/deployment of data loaders, report processing and generation, data and report validation, internal report delivery, and daily process monitoring. I utilize skills in SQL and Linux daily.
Previously, I began my career in data warehousing and Business Intelligence as an ETL Consultant for Information Control Corporation (ICC), in Columbus, OH. At that time, my major assignment was at Abercrombie & Fitch's Home Office where I worked on their Supply Chain BI project. I later held a position as a consultant for Hewlett Packard Government Consulting Services, within Fort Knox, Kentucky, where I worked directly with the US Army Accession Command. While in Kentucky, I worked closely on an Agile Development team utilizing scrum methodologies to meet strict deadlines for reporting capabilities. While in Kentucky, I studied and obtained my Security+ certification. Finally, I moved to Texas, to take a position as a Senior ETL Datastage Developer with USAA, developing reusable process flows and ETL frameworks.
Throughout my career I have specialized in Linux and Linux scripting, Datastage, Oracle, Sybase, Netezza, MS SQL Server, Java, and C++.
Before pursuing my passion as a Data Warehousing Engineer, I studied Computer Science and Psychology at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana where I ultimately received my Bachelor's Degrees in both and worked on a variety of research projects. Following college, I worked on a government contract position as a Java developer in the transportation and military industries. Upon completion of that contract, I attended IUPUI to work toward a Master's degree in Computer Science. While attending IUPUI, I began working for Heritage Environmental Services, on a one year contract as Site Manager assisting in the clean-up of the BP MC252 Gulf Coast oil spill.
My immediate goals are to further my education and experiences in Data Warehousing by obtaining my certification in RHCSA. My long term goals include continuing my career in Data Warehousing/Business Intelligence and Project Management. I absolutely love living in Austin and would never think of leaving.
